Things I'm listening to right now.
Keller Williams
Counting Crows (never take it off)
Fall Out Boy
Foo Fighters (damnt he drm!)
Jimmy Eat World
John Mayer
White Stripes
I'm looking into the Ben Harper album, but havn't heard it yet... anyone... anyone... bueler?

I'm probably way out there but....
Stravinsky, Bach, Irish and Scottish folk music, Woody Guthrie, and both Joplins.
I very much dislike "rap" or "hip hop". These have no music, just a beat. and words. As a school bus driver I witness that children today are unable to sing a proper song., or carry a tune. They just chant words, and the words are often profane.
Oh, and "speed metal". What the heck? It sounds like speed screaming.
Sure. I know. The music of each generation is formulated to sound like hell to the previous one. Still, it seems a shame that children are no longer able to sing. They just chant or scream. JMO
Too weird?
Best,

Which Bach? I had to listen
Which Bach? I had to listen to a lot of classical music in college, and it kind of ruined it for me. Now I'm more into the accoustical/rock type of stuff. Although every now and then I need something loud and obnoxious for when I'm working out or need to blow of steam:)
Not a hip hop guy either. I think American Idol is the downfall of the human race.
Wagner
I guess you can tell by my user name I'm into Wagner. I also like J.S. Bach and Stravinsky. I listen to some jazz too.
Everything
I do like some rap/hip-hop but NONE of the new stuff. Tupac Shakur was the last great hip hop artist.
But I listen to everything...
Classical
old school blues (robert Johnson)
Swing Jazz
Spanish pop
Beatles
Eric clapton
Celtic
Fall Out Boy, my chemical romance, plain white t's
Gorillas
Sublime (love them)
Simon and Garfunkel
Bob Dylan
Hymns
Christian Rock
Country
Reggae
Indie rock
the list could just go on and on...
Almost everything
I like a little bit of everything EXCEPT rap, hip-hop, and country. I can stand to listening to country, but if I had to listen to rap or hip-hop for any longer than the hour or so I have to on the bus every day I would probably have to kill my self.
What I listen to usually depends on my mood. If I just woke up or something like that I usually listen to the Beatles or some really slow Queen music. If I'm really hyper I might listen to Disturbed or Marilyn Manson (yes I know, The Beatles and Marilyn Manson is an incredibly weird combination). Most of the time I listen to Green Day, My Chemical Romance, Metallica, Queen, or Evanescnece.
Oh yeah, I also hate emo music (although MCR is very slightly emo).

Speaking of NPR, did any one
Speaking of NPR, did any one catch the Dave Grohl interview on Fresh Air yesterday? I think he was originally interviewed back in October but they played it again yesterday. I missed most of it but what I heard was pretty interesting.

I didn't listen to it but I
I didn't listen to it but I believe you can download the interview. NPR does a podcast for each one of their shows. I know you can download it from iTunes for free but if you don't have iTunes you can probably download it from their site too.
Yeah, I'll have to download that. I'd like to listen to the whole thing.

I have Linux Basement on there. Is anything else required? :)

I like non-amplified music
I like non-amplified music such as ppm, simon and garfunkel, barbershop quartet and the smothers brothers, I also like classic beatles and other music of the same genre. I for some reason can not get into the rap and what I call robot music (if you can call that music). It is a shame people have forgotten what melodies with harmony are.
Barbershop Quartet
It's cool to find someone who likes barbershop. I sang barbershop for awhile until my schedule got too busy. It can be difficult to tune chords correctly.
Prince

Rock on man, I havn't listened to the black crows in ages!
How about something different?
I recently found this site: http://www.pandora.com/
It has been around for some time now, but perhaps, like me, you have never heard of it.
What it does is play music that has similarities to an artist or song that you choose.
I put in 'Jack Johnson' and it played songs from 'Dave Matthews Band', 'Ben Harper', and a host of other artists that I had never heard of, but now listen to.
If you feel like you are in a musical rut, or are just in the mood for a slight change, check out the site.
