Unisom Project

Anyone know anything about this new Unisom Project?  http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,143198-pg,1/article.html
I would love to see a truly full featured Exchange/Outlook killer.

Good find. I just signed up

Good find. I just signed up for their press releases. I did notice that they use proprietary code in conjunction with open source, so I am wondering what the cost will be for the suite when they go into production.
The best exchange killer I've found to date is zimbra. It really is an amazing piece of work. http://www.zimbra.com/

Yea, I've heard Zimbra is

Yea, I've heard Zimbra is great, and its on my "todo" list. Honestly my frustration with looking for a Linux Exchange/Outlook solution has most to do with the lack of Tight AD integration on the backend and directory services, compared to that Windows/Exchange has.

Jason Brooks wrote a great article about this last year, worth the read: http://www.eweek.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=4042&Itemid=28&limit=&limitstart

Till this is addressed in an enterprise manor but Linux, it's going to force companies to continue using Windows Server, just from a user/account management standpoint.

I'd love to hear others opinions on this?

I would not say Zimbra has

I would not say Zimbra has "tight" integration, but they make it extremely easy to have it integrate into AD. You just set up the ldap settings and away you go (it has been two years, so I don't remember the gruesome details). May be worth looking at, as it would provide single sign on for users in an Active Directory environment.

By the way I could not agree more about the lack of good directory services for linux environments. It's actually one of my deep seeded interests right now, because I need GPO for linux.
