log parser

I am logging into using a log parser to collect and present data on the hard drive space on servers.  Can any one point me in the right direction to get started?  Should I be using apache2 with some sort of log parser to look at text files or apache2 with mysql?
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Sean

I guess it all depends on

I guess it all depends on what you really want. I highly recommend Zenoss, which is an open source SMTP network management tool that can do anything from monitor networking equipment, to processor crunch, to hard drive space. the nice part about Zenoss is that you can set it up to alert you if you get down to say, 10% on space. It is really robust. The only downfall is there is a bit of a learning curve. Check out more over at www.zenoss.com
Good Luck,
Chad
