Hello Chad and fellow Linux friends
First off I am John from Northern Ohio.I have been using various forms of Linux for a few years now and have become comfortable with it, although I still consider myself a newbee. I constantly brouse podcasts and tutorials when I found this cast on Podcast Alley. After a year+ of using Debian Etch 4.0 I am hoping this will bring me to the next level.

I converted people to linux this week. How about you?
Hello Chad and fellow friends of Linux,
I just listened to Episode 10 and thought I would reflect on my 07 Linux Holiday experience.
I went to my sisters for Thanksgiving and asked if I could use thier computer. They said sure but it hasn't been working right since thier virus protection expired and they didn't have the big bucks to update or buy new at the time. I told them no problem and popped in my copy of Knoppix 3.6 (my favorite of the Knoppix series). They were amazed, the seed has been planted. I left my brother-in-Law a copy of Knoppix 5.1.1 DVD so he could get the full expierence.
When I returned for Christmas he was all excited, he wanted to insall Knoppix to his Hard Drive. I reminded him that knoppix can be installed but is really meant to be use as a tool,I knew of something better (for a Hard Drive install),Ubuntu. We installed Ubuntu Gutsy and he was again amazed, the seed that I planted was now sprouting. He calls often wanting help installing some packages, wanting to know about updates, or if I have seen or heard the latest podcasts. Thanks to Linux we have started a whole new relationship.
This experience is very familiar to me,I crossed over to Linux when MS quite supporting ME and never looked back.
