Finux Student Hackers Guide to Linux

Well hi guys, and welcome to another Finux's Student Hackers Guide to Linux.  My name is Arron, But as usual you guys can call me finux.

You can find the HPR episode that goes along with these show notes from http://hackerpublicradio.org/eps/hpr0215.mp3 and there is also some slides you can download from a talk i did recently on this here http://thelinuxsociety.org.uk/content/rainbow-tables-slides-from-talk

Any chance of a down load link for the vlogs?

Hi I'm on Debian ppc and there is not flash player for it. While gnash is an option it can make some sites a royle PITA.  A download link or theora  would be great. I hear ogg support  is going to be built into firefox by default soon.  Cheers.

Living with a geek - Live

Dann's Ass

And now what you have all been waiting for... Dann's Ass. As you probably know, Dann from TLLTS drove up together and had a great time talking tech and trying to keep eachother awake. Dann is a great guy. Funny thing though, when you get him drunk, he does interesting things, like well, show his butt. Dann's ass really overshadowed the rest of the conference. No, really, literally.

Jono Bacon's ending Keynote

Jono Bacon is a good speaker. Very funny. I also got to talk to him several times throughout the conference, and he seems like a pretty nice guy. Here is a small excerpt from his talk.

John "Maddog" Hall was awesome

This was easily my favorite presentation of the day. The depth of knowledge and wisdom just oozes from Maddog. I hope to get to see him speak again someday. I wish I had caught there part where he talks about giving wifi to small tribes in africa. They get offered a solor panel, or a bike. They almost always to choose the bike to power the battery. When asked why, they said that if the solar panel broke, it could take months to get it repaired, but they have bikes and alternators around if they need parts.

Zenoss Rules

The Zenoss guys were really cool. I hope to get them on the show next season.

Ubuntu Guys

These guys did a great job. The Ubuntu booth was one of the busiest all day.

Wait, you like Apple??

The first 3 minutes of 20 minute argument, where people were trying to tell me that Apple promotes freedom. I actually went outside and smoked crack after this video just to feel like I fit in.

OLF PostgresQL table

Yes, I talk too much. But the fact that I could complete sentences that morning is actually quite amazing.

OLF Saturday Morning

Ladies and Gentlemen. I give you Pat Davilla, and Dann Washko from TLLTS!
